Club Night

Doors open at around 7:15. We have floorspots and the band up until our main guest who appears at around about 8:15 for the first of their two sets. We aim to finish at around 10:30. An evening at the club is a relaxed affair with plenty of time for chatting and meeting new people. We also have a raffle and a selection of CDs for sale including rare and hard to find albums.

Residents

Walthamstow FolkIn addition to our house band and main guest you can expect to hear some contributions from our resident performers. Our current residents are: Kevin Sheils, Russ Chandler, "Jim Piano Red" Redfarn, Frankie Cleeve, Other Theresa and Jim Kane.

Floorspots

If you sing or play an instrument we would love to hear you. We have a series of floorsposts from our resident performers and anyone who would like to perform before each half of the evening. If you'd like to play or sing just ask the person on the door or the MC for the evening. You don't have to stick to traditional material but if you can keep your piece reasonably short we'd appreciate it - no 48 verse ballads without prior notice please!

We often have floorspots from some wonderful performers and friends of the club such as Jim and Gail Younger, Mike Anderson, Ken Hall & Peta Webb, Simon Richie, John Foreman, Ken Lees & Sue Bainbridge, Stetson Stan and many more.

The Band

In addition to our resident and guest singers we are also proud to host the near legendary Jolly Ploughboys. Led by Mick the Pole and including musicians such as Frankie Cleeve, Chris Pitt and Jo the band play a vast repertoire of tunes from all over the British Isles.

The band always welcome new performers so don't be afraid to bring an instrument and join in!

Disabled Access

The club room is located on the ground floor with easy access for wheelchairs.

Bookings

If you would like to enquire about performing at the club as a main guest please email bookings@walthamstowfolk.co.uk

It's a club!

Always remember that Walthamstow Folk is not a concert promotion venture - it's a club! We always welcome ideas and suggestions as to artists we can book and how to improve what we do.

We are also always happy to hear form people who might be able to spare some time to help us out whether that's delivering leaflets, assisting with the admin side whatever else you might be able to offer to help the club.

We'd particularly welcome offers of support to help us out on club night.

As we settle in to our new home we will be exploring ways to enhance the club experience with membership schemes and priority booking programs.

Folk Time Lord!

MySpace

The club has it's own MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/walthamstowfolk - come and be our friends!
